Tele-health and Teletriage includes any form of consultation with a healthcare professional that does not involve a face-to-face visit. This may include consultation by telephone, video conferencing, computer or smartphone. Telehealth and Teletriage present new challenges for Healthcare Professionals in adhering to a person-centred approach. It has potential to add to the stress and coping ability and increase the risk to personal health. While decision-making software facilitates the essential steps required for safe and effective Telehealth, there is still a need for specific training that increases coping and competency in communication in this challenging field.
